"Auction Listings"

   I am attempting to add new categories to my auction.

Can I just overwrite or delete some of the categories listed?

What is if there are no subcategories? Does homes=> 'Homes', # No Sub Category mean use that for categories with no subcategory or the number of the subcategory.

Since there will be not subcategories do I need to install folders for the new categories under auction data - where every new category listed will end with a 1.

For no sub categories just define the %category section and leave the %supercat section blank see example welow:

%supercat = (
)

%category = (

homes=> 'Homes',
auto=> 'Auto Parts',
office=> 'Office Supplies',
)

The auction will creat all the dirs for you under the auctiondata dir and give them the proper permissions, If you creat them yourself you will have to give them the permissions of 777 (read/write/excute)

   If you wllow the auction create the dir it will set the permissions for you. if not and on an nt server you have to get you host to set them for you. if on an unix server you can set then using your ftp program use it's help to tell you depending on the program your using to how it is done. if you using you servers ftp login they should have help all are diferent.

   I tried the above and it did not work.

1. I thought the "supercat" was for the main categories and the "category" was the subcategory. Please read your previous instructions on which to list the main categories under. I attempted both ways anyhow.

2. It did not create files in the auctiondata directory. Does it make a difference whether the old folders were there from the previous categories?

3. I changed the permissions on the category folders to 777 as instructed. I made a directory for each just as a test after they didn't show up in the auctiondata directory.

I can't believe that changing categores is this complicated. We must be missing something. Not only does it not just work the entire page won't come up although I have the original codes.

   I GOT IT!!! I am so embarrassed. I missed an extra ' symbol that I used in DVD's. Is it ok for me to delete the folders of the old auction main categories in the auctiondata file? I will not be using them.

Thanks ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
